Aktia's Q3 result did not offer any material surprises. As expected, top-line declined along with net interest income, which also kept comparable EBIT down.

We expect Aktia's earnings to have continued to decrease due to declining net interest income. We estimate that general loan demand remained relatively stable, meaning we do not expect the clear growth in the corporate loan portfolio seen in the previous quarter to have continued as briskly.

The sanction is due to an error in Aktia's identification service resulting in the bank's customers temporarily being able to see the data of other customers. Aktia stated that it will appeal against the decision.

Aktia announced on Tuesday that it had appointed Anssi Huhta as the company’s new CEO. The appointment was expected and brings much-needed continuity to the bank's management after several changes.
