Solar Foods established in 2017 is a global leader in sustainable protein production, solving the global food production problem by offering a completely new alternative to existing animal and plant proteins. Solar Foods’ first product is the naturally occurring single-cell protein Solein®, which can be used as a food raw material with high protein content. In the long run, Solein production will improve global availability of protein and increase price and quality stability of food raw materials by disconnecting food production from agriculture.

The ramp-up of production at Solar Foods' 01 production facility progresses as expected

The improvement achieved with Solar Foods' current production capacity has a limited impact on the company's potential revenue or margin, but for the industrial-scale Factory 02, the ability to prove the scalability of Solein production plays a critical role in the investment case.

More concrete details on leveraging partner suppliers in Solar Foods' Factory 02 investment

An update to Solar Foods' Factory 02 operating model brings more concrete details to the evaluation communicated in connection with the company's H1 report regarding the possibilities to reduce the production plant's investment needs by relying more heavily on partner suppliers. We believe that the use of partner suppliers is justified from Solar Foods' perspective, as it reduces the capital requirement of the future production facility, which is currently the main pain point of the investment story.

Solar Foods advances Solein commercialization with FDA GRAS notification

With this notification, the company aims to receive a "no questions letter" from the agency, which is a stronger indication of the safety of Solein protein. The GRAS notification is a natural and expected continuation of Solein's commercialization strategy.

As @Alamaki linked above, Ajinomoto is launching iced coffee containing Solein. New products for the Singapore market alone do not move the needle for Solar Foods, but Solein-based product launches show that Ajinomoto is still interested in Solein. Considering the 02 factory investment...

I think in this context, a narrower term than ‘strategic partner’ could have been used, as my initial thoughts went to companies like Ajinomoto and Fazer. Here, the idea was mainly reinforced and and further developed that instead of the company owning the factory space, producing...
