WindowMaster & NorDan Unveil Collaboration on Smoke Ventilation for Commercial Façades
Ventilation specialist WindowMaster & window manufacturer NorDan announces project that showcases both organisations’ dedication to safety, offering specifiers the very latest commercial façade solutions to help them achieve the best outcomes.
NorDan’s smoke ventilation windows are now UKCA marked to EN 12101-2, helping these systems both comply with UK law, and also making it easier to specify NorDan smoke ventilation solutions.
Smoke ventilation systems are employed within buildings for various purposes, one of which is to effectively remove smoke from critical areas such as stairwells and corridors, ensuring the safe evacuation of individuals during fire incidents.
Specific to NorDan’s NSHEV Side Opening, NSHEV Side Hinged and NSHEV Top Opening systems, each product will be equipped with WindowMaster’s proprietary actuators for smoke control.
As Erik Boyter, WindowMaster’s CEO says, “You can never compromise on fire safety, whatever the setting. In commercial buildings asset owners, occupants, and visitors alike need to know they are protected from any eventuality. Smoke is one of the biggest causes of fire-related deaths, so any solution that can quickly remove it from the building interiors significantly reduces the risk. NorDan shares our vision for making the commercial built environment as safe as possible, and we’re proud to partner with them on this pioneering project.”
