Dette fremgår af en analyse torsdag, hvor kursmålet sænkes til 55 SEK fra 125 SEK med en fastholdt købsanbefaling. Banken skriver, at Surgical Science er slået i gulvet, men ikke ude. Med udsigt til 2026 ser Danske Bank vækstmuligheder både inden for forretningsområdet Industri/OEM samt for Uddannelsesprodukter. Efter opsigelsen af hensigtserklæringen ser Danske Bank en EBITA-vækst på 19 procent for 2026. For hele årene 2026 og 2027 sænker Danske Bank sine estimater for salg og EBITA med henholdsvis 9 og 46 procent. Væksten inden for Industri/OEM forventes at være -4 procent for 2026 med et fald på 19 procent i licensindtægter samme år. Justeret for ISRG forventes det underliggende licenssalg at vokse med 9 procent i 2026. Pareto Securities forventer et tocifret fald for virksomheden Surgical Science, der producerer kirurgiske simulatorer, efter at kunden Intuitive har opsagt sin hensigtserklæring om at integrere virksomhedens simulationssoftware i alle da Vinci 5 (dV5) robotsystemer. Ifølge Surgical Science vil dette resultere i en negativ indvirkning på licensindtægterne på 60-90 millioner SEK næste år. På baggrund af denne meddelelse har Pareto nedjusteret sine licensestimater med 20 procent og sænket næste års omsætnings- og driftsresultatprognoser med henholdsvis 12 og 50 procent. Jeg er ikke helt sikker på, hvilken mening du endte med i denne henseende, men i hvert fald ser ISRG noget fornuft i dette.  Largest customer Intuitive Surgical will roll out its cutting-edge da Vinci 5 surgical robot in 2025e and include simulation in all systems, increasing attach rate from c30-35% previously to 100%. Simulation for da Vinci 5 systems will be a purely subscription-based model,  Virksomheden er gennem sine opkøb i stand til at tilbyde mange forskellige segmenter:  We judge that Surgical Science currently holds a quasi-monopoly or oligopoly position in several niches of the medical simulation industry. Additional acquisitions may extend this position to further niches. Such a dominant position is an excellent position from which to extract high profit margins, but it could also breed complacency among incumbents. Potential complacency could lead to new challengers entering the space with innovative products, winning over key customers despite Surgical Science’s sticky customer relationships and high switching costs.

Tak for dette, det vidste jeg ikke. Jeg synes, det er mere sandsynligt, at SSS med tiden finder sig selv som en del af en anden virksomhed, da forskellene mellem udstyret er så store, at simuleringen skal skræddersyes. Det, jeg generelt konstaterede om udstyret, holder stadig – anvendelserne af simulering overlapper i forhold til den faktiske kirurgiske procedure, og hardwareproducenten har altid mulighed for at gøre det selv. Her er begrænsningen ikke teknisk, men kundernes betalingsvillighed; det bedste ville være, hvis kunden anskaffede flere systemer, nogle til procedurer og nogle til træning, introduktion og operationsplanlægning. Jeg ville derfor se simuleringer som gode, så længe vestlig specialiseret sundhedspleje, især i Europa, ses som en omkostning, der bør reduceres.
