Prevas Helps Quadsat Bring Advanced Drone Technology to Scalable Production

PREV BPressemeddelelse27.08.2026, 10.00

Prevas has helped Danish company Quadsat further develop the hardware platform for its advanced longe-range drone-based electronic warfare solution. Through industrial hardware development and software review, Prevas has contributed to a robust and scalable solution designed for higher-volume production and operation in demanding environments.

Drones are playing an increasingly important role in defense and security. At the same time, this development places high demands on the underlying technology. Advanced solutions not only need to work - they must also be robust, scalable for higher production volumes and easy to maintain.

This is an area where Prevas has built strong expertise in fields such as industrial electronics, embedded Linux and cybersecurity.

"We have not invented new drone control systems, but we can help realize them when someone has designed a new algorithm or a new wing. We take care of the part that others may find less exciting - but in reality, that is often what determines whether a product succeeds," says Mads Doré Hansen, Embedded Development Advisor at Prevas Denmark.

From Satellite Communications to the Defense Market

Quadsat is a Danish company that has been developing drone-based sensor solutions since 2017. Technology originally developed for satellite communications has been further developed for the defense market and is used to detect and geolocate signals from radar systems and jammers, among other applications.

"We realized that the technology we had developed for satellite communications could be used to create something unique for the defense market. We have a system that weighs less than three kilograms and can be operated using very small drones," says Klaus Aude, CCO at Quadsat.

Robust Hardware for Higher Production Volumes

As part of Quadsat's continued development, Prevas developed a new carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson System-on-Module. The solution improved hardware quality and created better conditions for efficient production at higher volumes.

The collaboration combines Quadsat's expertise in RF intelligence and electronic warfare with Prevas' experience in industrial hardware development. The result is a robust hardware platform designed for production and operation in demanding environments. The project was delivered on time and within budget.

"Prevas has helped us with hardware development and software review. It is a clear advantage when you can draw on each other's expertise - it has made our day-to-day work more flexible," says Klaus Aude.

Growing Need for Industrialization

For Prevas, the collaboration reflects a broader development within the defense and drone industries, where innovation needs to be combined with expertise in industrialization, hardware, software and security to enable new solutions to scale.
