Logistea AB and Rebaba Launch innovative Project for Circular Energy Storage
Logistea and Rebaba have initiated an innovative collaboration to revolutionize energy management in logistics properties. By combining advanced circular energy storage systems with Logistea's forward-looking strategy for sustainable infrastructure, the project takes a bold step towards a future where energy flow becomes a valuable and profitable resource.
Rebaba will deliver its first CircularBESS to Logistea – a completely Swedish-built storage system that uses batteries from electric vehicles in their second lifecycle, saving more than 40 tons of CO₂e. Logistea's facility in Borås will become a true showcase for second lifecycle battery storage, combining sustainability, profitability, and grid resilience in one solution.
Thanks to its high level of innovation and potential, the project is supported by the Swedish Energy Agency. They emphasize its alignment with sustainability goals and highlight the system's ability to optimize renewable energy, balance the grid, and reuse valuable materials such as lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles. They also note the clear customer value and strong potential for future commercialization.
At the heart of the project is Rebaba's CircularBESS, built entirely from batteries from electric vehicles in their second lifecycle. By reusing these batteries, the system makes a significant contribution to reducing emissions compared to using new batteries. Rebaba's design prioritizes safety and longevity, ensuring that the system operates reliably while meeting the highest standards for modern energy storage solutions.
