Hej, meddelelsen fra i går betyder ikke, at Betolar forlader First North-listen, men at aktien bringes til handel også i USA. Handlen ville fremover foregå parallelt på to markeder: på First North i euro og på OTCQX-markedspladsen i dollars. Den pågældende markedsplads er specifikt rettet mod amerikanske investorer, for hvem direkte investering i Helsinki er vanskelig, så for finske investorer medfører dette ingen handling. Noteringen betyder heller ikke i sig selv, at der rejses ny kapital, men trækket øger selskabets profil i USA. Jeg forventer, at Betolar får brug for yderligere egenkapitalfinansiering, men jeg anser det dog for sandsynligt, at en eventuel finansiering i sidste ende vil blive søgt i Norden.

I betragtning af, at virksomhedens realiserede omsætning er i hundredtusindvis af euro, har selskabet en meget ambitiøs og international tilgang til tingene. Hjemmesiden er lavet til perfektion, og nu en parallelnotering i USA… Tilgangen er som hos et større børsnoteret selskab. Nu er der bare brug for eksplosiv vækst, målene er virkelig høje, men resultaterne mangler stadig lidt (i 2026 skulle selskabet ifølge de oprindelige mål have en omsætning på 200 millioner, og ifølge de nuværende mål i 2033 en milliard). Jeg synes, at det at sætte enorme mål er lidt problematisk for en investor, når track record for at nå dem er svag. Det gør selskabet til en slags lotteriseddel-investering; der tales om hundreder af millioner og en milliard, men i øjeblikket er man i hundredtusindvis. Målene er selvfølgelig blevet opdateret nu, men man savner stadig lidt realisme, hvad der er helt realistisk muligt, og hvad der ikke er. Jeg kritiserer ikke væksten som sådan, det er godt, at der findes vækstorienterede virksomheder i Finland. Men når man bliver børsnoteret, bør man være mere realistisk med hensyn til ord og handlinger, end hvad der tales om i startup-verdenen.

Hvorfor er Betolar ikke med her? Det ser ud til, at den finske stat også støtter projektet sammen med EU. Et andet spørgsmål er, hvorfor Betolar ikke var med på de statsbesøg? Uundgåeligt kom tanken om, at en fusion mellem Epse og Betolar ville være mere end en fornuftig alliance; begge ville drage fordel. Epses teknologi behandler spildevand, og Betolar behandler opkoncentreringssand og slagge. Dette ville jo være en perfekt alliance. Men kunne Betolar i første omgang stadig komme med i det projekt i Usbekistan og Kasakhstan? Hvorfor ikke. Det er bare at kontakte de finske statsmyndigheder.
