Here are Atte’s comments regarding the recent announcement above.  YIT announced on Monday that it is starting the construction of an educational building for the Tikkurila competence campus in Vantaa. The contract is valued at EUR 77 million, which represents approximately 4% of the Construction segment’s cumulative revenue forecast for the years 2026–2028. The project supports the company’s goal to increase the revenue of its contracting segments and strengthens our confidence in the segment’s forecasts for the coming years. The agreement does not lead to immediate changes in our forecasts, as it fits within our expectations for the Construction segment’s order flow. The project is located on the banks of the Neris River at Brastos g. 20. The parties have agreed that the value of the transaction will not be disclosed. The partnership will accelerate the consistent expansion of the Piliamiestis project. YIT will act as the main contractor for the project. The project will be implemented in three phases, the first of which involves the construction of two residential apartment buildings with 73 apartments and 13 commercial spaces; construction work for these was started in autumn 2025. In the following two phases, four residential apartment buildings with a total of 143 apartments and 13 commercial spaces will be built in the block. Public infrastructure along the river will also be further developed: the embankment will be expanded, and new pedestrian and bicycle paths will be built.

Here are Atte’s comments on YIT’s recently concluded change negotiations. YIT announced on Friday that it has concluded the change negotiations that began in February and will be renewing its operating model starting May 1st. As a result of the negotiations, 95 positions in Finland will be terminated, and the company is now targeting annual cost savings of EUR 18 million by the end of 2027. The savings target is slightly higher than the previous estimate of EUR 15 million. The measures will result in a one-time cost of EUR 4 million for the first quarter of the year, but as a whole, the reform supports the company’s goal of improving its profitability and clarifying its organization. The contract sum for the collaborative project management contract was finalized at EUR 77 million during the development phase. The contract will be recorded in YIT’s order book for the second quarter of 2026. The scope of the property was refined to approximately 25,000 gross square meters during the development phase. Construction work will be completed in late 2028.

The change negotiations related to the plans were completed in March. YIT will transition to a function-based organizational structure in the Housing Finland and Construction segments starting 1 May. Additionally, YIT has established a new division focusing on data center construction as well as energy and industrial construction. The division brings together expertise from the Construction and Infrastructure segments into a single entity. As a result of the efficiency measures, 95 positions will be eliminated in Finland. YIT estimates that through personnel reductions and other efficiency measures, it will achieve annual inflation-adjusted cost savings of EUR 18 million by the end of 2027. Of these, EUR 7 million are expected to be realized during 2026. The costs arising from the efficiency measures, totaling EUR 4 million, will be allocated to the first quarter of the current year and will be included in the adjusting items of the operating profit.

YIT reports its Q4 results on February 6th. Aided by apartment unit completions, we expect to see the long on-going negative growth trend to reverse and profitability to improve clearly.
