Nexstim operates in medical technology. The company has developed a non-invasive brain stimulation technology called SmartFocus®. It is a navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) technology with 3D navigation providing targeting of the TMS to the specific area of the brain. The technology is aimed for the treatment of major depression and chronic neuropathic pain. The company was founded in 2000 and has its headquarters in Helsinki.

I track delivered equipment and the order backlog for past quarters, as I assume that is factual data. For the ongoing and not-yet-reported quarter, I follow press releases. By combining this information, I track things like rolling annual deliveries. Right now, it looks like the growth rate for the past rolling year would be 69%. Of course, this includes the assumption that the equipment delivery time is a maximum of four weeks, otherwise Q3 orders will roll over to Q4. And of course, more orders/deliveries could still come in. After all, almost a third of the quarter is still left.

Thanks for these trackers! It makes staying on the map considerably easier. A very interesting end to the year coming up. There are certainly interesting opportunities in the sales pipeline, such as this new BrainStim center mentioned in the 2025 annual report, which is supposed to get as many as 4 devices: “In 2026, BrainStim will open a new flagship TMS center in Van Nuys, California. This location is purpose-built to house up to four Nexstim neuronavigated TMS systems, with a projected operational capacity of up to 500 treatments per week at that single site. The Van Nuys expansion represents a significant investment in Nexstim’s technology platform and reinforces our long-term commitment to neuronavigated stimulation as the clinical standard of care.” At least I haven’t seen any announcement about sales related to that yet. In addition, what I am looking forward to is, of course, the finalization of the Sinaptica deal, new larger orders from Brainlab, and the expansion of the clinic network in the USA. As a wildcard, new Sinaptica-style TMS-EEG partnerships. NuWays starting coverage is also very welcome. Good things are happening in the company and at a nice frequency, hats off.

I track the devices reported in the accounting, and so far there have been 34 of them. I chatted with Karvinen at some point about those device upgrades, and the situation with them is that if the device is not brand new, upgrading to a new generation is practically very close in revenue to selling a new device. Great that Nuways has also started coverage. I need to read the report when I have the time. Nuways’ event in Germany, where Nexstim is also speaking, is coming up soon.

These orders for research use are precisely the most delicious kind of orders that can yield some new business in the future. According to my calculations, the new orders this year total 37. Based on the figures in the H1 report, Q2 had three more orders than what was announced in separate press releases.   The growth in the total order volume for the year is already 12% ahead of last year, and the final quarter hasn’t even started yet.

We are moving at a fast pace on the sales meter towards dark green   I’m under the impression that 37 units have been sold now. Correct me if I’m wrong.  But in my opinion, it’s starting to look like we are going to be chasing The Dark Green Block for this year.
