Nokia is a global telecommunications company. The company offers solutions in IP, broadband, digital health, and cloud-based systems. The customers are found in a broad base of markets and consist of large corporate customers, authorities, and private consumers. The business is established on a global level in all regions. Nokia was founded in 1865 and the head office is located in Esbo, Finland.

By the way, Nokia has been well aware of what they were buying when they decided to acquire Infinera. Even in the stock exchange release on 28.6.2024, Infinera’s ICE-D optical components were mentioned. So there are quite high expectations for these, even if it hasn’t been directly communicated to the market.  And in the 06/25 publication, these components have been highlighted in Nokia’s data center strategy.  And let’s remember that this is new business for Nokia, which is not yet included in the 2026 forecasts. However, the market is expected to grow explosively over the next few years, all the way to the 2030s. And about the competitors still… Lumentum sells its InP production manufactured in Japan to, for example, Broadcom, which is why there’s a lot of fuss about it. Coherent refuses to sell InP capacity separately but focuses on putting them into its own CPO components. Cisco (Luxtera) and Intel do not master the InP laser wafer method, but are dependent on external lasers (they use SiPh which is not suitable for high temperatures). And indeed, Broadcom also does not have this area of expertise. If Nokia doesn’t have the trump cards here, then where do they? This business is expected to be the future requirement for data centers, so that AI can continue its deployment. So indeed, this is expected to grow at a tremendous pace. Why else would Nokia (or Infinera) have increased capacity with a new factory that brings a 25x capacity increase? And the factory will be ready by the beginning of 2026. If you want to remember 2 things about Nokia for the coming years, they are the words CPO and ICE-D.

Nvidia and Broadcom Lead Bank of America’s Top 2026 Chip Picks Nvidia NVDA, Broadcom AVGO and Lam Research LRCX are highlighted by Bank of America as top semiconductor stocks for 2026, amid ongoing growth in AI-related spending. Analysts see next year as a midpoint in an extended cycle of IT infrastructure upgrades driven by AI and accelerated workloads. They noted some short-term volatility could persist as investors weigh returns, but demand from enterprise, hyperscale, and government customers is expected to provide steady support. Other favored large-cap names include KLA Corp. (KLAC), Analog Devices ADI and Cadence Design Systems (CDNS). Emerging trends in 2026 include co-packaged optics, robotics and quantum, with Lumentum LITE and Coherent (COHR) positioned as potential leaders.  CPO is now emerging in several analyses, but Nokia is still completely overlooked. In vertical integration, only Coherent can match Nokia. Nokia will be a true benchmark for others in this.
