Nordtech portfolio company Optiplan acquires Mitt Skolval to create leading school choice platform

Stockholm Nordtech Group

Nordtech’s portfolio company Optiplan, a leading provider of digital services for school transportation, school choice, and student travel, has signed an agreement to acquire the business operations of Mitt Skolval through an asset purchase transaction with Svensk Utbildningsteknologi AB. The acquisition is part of Nordtech’s strategy to develop and strengthen its portfolio companies through complementary add-on acquisitions. By bringing together two of Sweden’s leading providers of digital school choice solutions under Optiplan, the transaction strengthens Optiplan’s position in the school choice market while contributing positively to the company’s recurring revenue and profitability.

“This is a strategically important step for Optiplan that further strengthens the company’s market position and future growth opportunities. We are laying the foundation for the next generation of school choice services and building a leading school choice group with the capability to develop solutions that truly make a difference for students, guardians, and education providers,” says Hannes Skugghall, CEO of Optiplan.

By combining the technology, experience, and expertise of Optiplan and Mitt Skolval, the acquisition creates opportunities for further investment in digital development and customer support. The objective of the transaction is to further enhance and strengthen the offering for schools, municipalities, and other education providers, with a continued focus on user experience and a fair, transparent, and legally compliant school choice process.
