Mölndal, Sweden, November 5, 2026 – Integrum AB (publ) (Nasdaq First North Growth Market: INTEG B) is Legacy Sponsor, the highest of the congress’s sponsorship levels, of the fifth Global Collaborative Congress on Osseointegration (GCCO) in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 5–7, 2026. The congress starts today with a pre-conference surgical training course in the OPRA™ Implant System hosted by Integrum, followed by one and a half days of presentations, including the symposium on the Ukrainian experience. Integrum is represented by CEO Martin Hillsten, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rickard Brånemark and several colleagues and patient ambassadors. Dr. Brånemark takes part in the scientific programme and leads the Ukraine symposium.
GCCO is an annual scientific congress for surgeons, researchers, prosthetists, rehabilitation teams, patients and healthcare administrators working with bone-anchored prostheses and covers the field. Integrum’s pre-conference course combines lectures with hands-on training in the OPRA Implant System for its CE-marked indications in Europe – transfemoral, transhumeral and thumb/finger amputation – and its FDA-approved transfemoral indication in the U.S., together with surgical workflow, treatment planning and case reviews.
The programme also reflects the Ukrainian experience. Since 2023, Integrum has, under the supervision of Dr. Brånemark, trained Ukrainian surgeons and, together with Ukrainian colleagues, established Centers of Excellence in Kyiv and Cherkasy, and OPRA has been used in more than 100 treatments in Ukraine. Several Ukrainian surgeons attend GCCO to continue their training, and on November 7 Dr. Brånemark leads the symposium “Treating Combat-Injured Amputees with Bone-Anchored Prostheses: Lessons from 100 Cases in Ukraine”, together with surgeons from Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm and Cherkasy Hospital in Ukraine.
“GCCO is where the clinical community around bone-anchored prostheses meets. We are there to train surgeons in the OPRA system, share the clinical experience from Ukraine and listen to the clinicians and patients who work with our implants every day. This forms part of our long-term strategy to forge new strategic partnerships, make osseointegration an established standard of care, and further solidify Integrum’s position as the innovative leader in the field,” says Martin Hillsten, CEO of Integrum.
