Genovis delivers biotechnology tools and technology platforms to the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries. The company develops enzyme and inhibitor technologies that facilitate, or are integral parts of, a wide range of processes from basic research to pharmaceutical manufacturing and diagnostics. The company operates on a global scale, with customers primarily in North America, Europe and East Asia. Genovis was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Kävlinge.

A bit of a monologue here. Oh well, at least I won’t start arguing with myself.  The annual report provides more detail on the reflections I shared above.  I hope to get answers from the AGM to at least these:  how much of the 2025 growth came from ADC? (core revenue +17%, currency-adjusted +23%) when will the first milestone payment arrive? what will be Sequrna’s realistic contribution to the results? are there new licensing agreements in the pipeline? is a share issue needed?             storage.mfn.se              annual-report-genovis-2025.pdf

Time for the AGM. The management remains the same, and the remuneration system is being refined, linking it specifically to the development phase (dividends are not the target). Authorization is requested for a share issue of 6.6 million shares (which would mean a 10% dilution as such). I wonder if this signals some kind of acquisition? Authorization is also requested for the buyback of own shares (10%) (could this also be related to an acquisition?) In any case, the impression is that the company is preparing for sufficient strategic room for maneuver in developing its operations “a step higher” in the food chain. Continuing as a hopeful holder, even though these have been years of suffering. SEB raised its target to 32 kronor (30) and Nordea to 31 (30) at the beginning of April. I see this as a much more positive step than the previous news, moving towards participating in drug manufacturing technology rather than selling enzymes for others to research. So, two different lines are being built: Research tools and Therapeutics licensing.  This new move has a really big upside. One could even call it exponential. BUT: there are no royalties, so it wouldn’t get Kevin O’Leary excited. I’m eagerly awaiting the first milestone payments.

Good that business is good. It seems to me that Genovis is a premier enzyme supplier whose products have unique properties and thus pricing power. I’m holding this with a small weighting, waiting for better times.

There is a lot of potential there to establish Genovis’s services as an “essential” part (a standard?) of the early stages of drug development—assuming that G is able to provide better and more reliable data quality. If successful, this would also mean scaling volume without additional sales effort. Or am I understanding this correctly?
