Byhmgard AB (”Byhmgard”) has today, through a wholly owned project company, entered into binding agreements to acquire the rights to Hitura, a 50 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Finland (the ”Project”). The seller is Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy, a wholly owned subsidiary of the developer Solarigo Systems Oy (”Solarigo”). The transaction follows the letter of intent announced by the parties on 23 July 2026.

Hitura is a standalone energy storage system being developed by Solarigo and is expected to reach ready-to-build stage during 2026, with expected commissioning in late 2027. Under the agreement, Byhmgard takes over the project rights and assumes responsibility for completing the development work up to ready-to-build stage. Completion and payment occur in stages and are subject to customary closing conditions, including the Project reaching ready-to-build status.

The acquisition is the first under the framework agreement signed by Byhmgard and Solarigo on 11 May 2026, and a step in Byhmgard’s build-out of a European 1 GW BESS portfolio, with Finland and the Baltics as priority markets. As the share of weather-dependent generation in the Nordics grows, so does the need for energy storage that can provide flexibility and ancillary services to the grid.

”Moving from letter of intent to binding agreements in just over a month demonstrates the strength of the collaboration between Byhmgard and Solarigo. Hitura is a high-quality asset in one of our priority markets and confirms the business model we have built and refined over recent years”, says Marco Berggren, Chief Investment Officer at Byhmgard.

”Energy storage is playing an increasingly important role in balancing the Nordic electricity system. We are pleased to be part of this change together with our committed partner Byhmgard. The signing of the project agreement is an important milestone in our expanding cooperation and demonstrates Solarigo’s ability to develop high-quality and investment-ready battery storage projects in Finland”, says Antti Koskelainen, CEO of Solarigo.

Byhmgard will publish further information in accordance with applicable rules once the closing conditions have been satisfied and completion has taken place.
