Solteq is an IT consulting company. The company specializes in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. Other services offered are related to financial management and inventory management. The customers consist of small and medium-sized business customers operating in the retail and hospitality industries. The operations are conducted on a global level, mainly in Europe, North America and Asia.

I’d bet that none of these 3 options will happen. Selling a part of the company might be possible, but not all of it. To the (presumably poor?) main owner, the company is probably like their own child… So a share issue is out. Actually, Aktan spoke so well that if he talks to the bank the same way, they’ll be asking if you want more loans  The money is enough, and soon they’ll be the technology leader on the Utilities side… It would be embarrassing for the CEO too if this weren’t the case, since he already gave assurances. You just have to keep your eyes on 2029. By then, Inderes is already predicting a P/E=4.5. Well, it certainly won’t be that then; instead, the share price will be at least triple the current one. Not bad. The CEO has bought for 100k this year, well, he could do even more…

When steering a company, vision, actions, and results are what count. Based on Solteq’s (track record) interim figures, all of these are missing. It doesn’t help that the CEO’s delivery in interviews is entertaining when results are not being produced and the market is gradually slipping away. In these situations, the Board’s responsibility becomes—and should have already become—central.

In my opinion, Aktan has one of the best deliveries among listed company CEOs, perhaps even the best, and he’s clearly a smart guy whose interviews are genuinely a pleasure to listen to. But Solwers is now in a situation where, in all likelihood, we will see one of the following this year:  A massive share issue that dilutes current owners like hell (Duell-style) to get the debt load under control. A corporate arrangement where Solwers is sold to a larger player – though the purchase price would likely be nominal given the debt load and poor results. Corporate restructuring.  I wouldn’t touch this stock with a ten-foot pole right now, because all of the above options will likely melt away a major part of an investor’s holdings. No position, not investment advice.

Solteq is a Titanic with holes in its bottom (unprofitability/customer churn), and a heavy anchor (massive debt load) pulling it toward the seabed. It is still somehow staying above the surface, but for how long, no one knows. The ocean may swallow it into its depths next autumn or later if sales don’t start picking up. Company interviews are indeed quite interesting to follow. Whether there is any benefit in following them, it’s hard to say. The truth, however, is that even the CEO himself doesn’t know whether they will survive this mountain of debt and interest expenses or not. “We are doing our best”—whether that will be enough remains to be seen. For many years, we’ve been told that the future looks promising, but it has yet to materialize.

Here’s Joni’s company report on Solteq after Q1  We are lowering our recommendation for Solteq shares to sell (previously reduce) and our target price to 0.21 euros (previously 0.43 euros). Solteq’s Q1 revenue fell short of expectations, and the result dropped into the negative. The company’s new savings program supports profitability, but the effects will unfortunately come too late. Negative cash flow has depleted cash, and time is running out. Overall, the risk level related to the earnings, the refinancing of the JVK loan (jvk-laina) or a financing arrangement has become too high for shareholders to remain involved. If the financial situation could somehow be resolved positively, there would still be time to get back into the stock, as an earnings turnaround will take time. As a shareholder, I appreciate value creation, not flowery phrases. Solteq’s journey has indeed been painful to watch over the last few years.

Solteq reports Q1 on 29 April. We expect gradual improvement through the year as savings feed through to profitability, but visibility on sales development remains limited.
