QT Group operates in the IT sector. The group develops various development tools for the global market. The technology is based on QT technology and is used to develop multi-platform interfaces and associated applications. The services are used in, among other things, industrial robots, entertainment systems, and vehicle systems. Operations are conducted on a global level and customers are found in the automotive and aerospace industries.

Yeah, I meant the forecasted EPS for 2026. Now that the IAR deal was completed at the end of the year, 2026 looks quite different compared to 2025. And it’s not bad based on TTM figures either, even though 2025 was a total disaster. The share price has come down so brutally.

During the first 9 months, Qt has only managed to accumulate 0.52 EPS. In Q4 last year, 1.13 EPS was achieved, meaning the TTM is 1.65 EPS. At the current share price of €25.06, a P/E of 14 would require 1.79 EPS. Inderes expects 1.42 EPS, which would mean a P/E of 17.6, or for the P/E to be 14, the share price would need to be €19.88 if the forecast is met.

The previous Q4 profit warnings have arrived well into January, and now we are already well into February. This has been hammered, and for good reason, but could it be a bit too much already? I agree with the previous comment that even a little bit of positivity could start shaking off short sellers quickly. We hope, we believe, and we fear

Short interest is building up so much that hopefully the results are okay and the outlook has improved, as it could provide quite a boost to the upside… or then straight to the basement.

Kauppalehti: Citadel Advisors increases its net short position in Qt Group by 12.05 percent to 236,873 shares, the position is 0.93 percent of the share capital.

There is nothing new regarding the CFO’s departure. As I understand it, the outgoing CFO is working with the new CFO on IAR’s annual closing and integration. At this stage, there is no profit warning, as all deadlines have passed. The real question is:  Where will the results land: at the lower end of the guidance or better? What is the guidance/range for 2026?  Item 2 is the most important. A mid or high-end figure is probably optimal: not too pessimistic, not too optimistic/unrealistic.

That’s not quite right. When you are long and you are wrong, your position shrinks. When you are short and you are wrong, your position grows. It is a different kind of risk management.
