The research explores the potential of microalgae as the "waste management workers" of the future. The research team has demonstrated that local microalgae can purify industrial wastewater by removing heavy metals such as cadmium and arsenic.</p></div><h2 data-start="534" data-end="571"><span>Collaboration with Umeå University</span></h2><p data-start="572" data-end="897"><span>Xoma AB is proud to actively contribute to this important research project through a collaboration with Umeå University.
