Upon completion, the air-to-water heat pump plant will be the largest in the world, with a total heat production capacity of approximately 30 MW. The mission-critical Valmet Distributed Control System (DCS) enables flexible and efficient heat production, which reduces carbon dioxide emissions and brings Helsinki closer to the clean energy transition. The system’s precise control of heat pumps and electric boilers also ensures stable heating prices for customers. The order is included in Valmet’s orders received for the fourth quarter of 2025. The value of the order will not be disclosed. Delivery will be handed over to the customer in March 2027.

Valmet Oyj:n ammattilehdistötiedote 18.12.2025 klo 11.00 Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd. on                             Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd. has chosen Valmet to replace existing long nip presses with premium Advantage ViscoNip press technology in five of the company’s tissue machines in China. The modernization work will be carried out at the Chongqing, Jiangxi, and Guangdong mills. The selection of Advantage ViscoNip press technology was based on the premium performance and reliability of Valmet’s solution, which will enhance machine operations and require less maintenance. Lee & Man has positive experiences with five previously delivered Valmet Advantage DCT machines utilizing ViscoNip technology, which was a decisive factor in the decision. The order is partly included in Valmet’s orders for the second quarter of 2025 and mostly in the orders for the fourth quarter of 2025. Its value is not disclosed. All five upgrades are expected to be commissioned during 2026. The upgrades will further strengthen Lee & Man’s position as a leading tissue producer in the region. Technical details of the delivery The order includes an upgrade package and related services for five Advantage ViscoNip presses, which will be installed to replace the current long nip presses in tissue machines TM 3, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

This significant issuance strengthens Valmet’s long-term debt structure and is an important step in diversifying the company’s funding sources and expanding its debt investor base. The loan is divided into 11 tranches, comprising both fixed and floating-rate portions, and its maturity profile is diversified across three, five, seven, and ten years. The average maturity is almost six years. At the end of the third quarter of 2025, Valmet’s net gearing ratio was 38 percent, which is well below its target level of less than 50 percent. BNP Paribas, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, and Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale (Helaba) acted as joint lead arrangers for the Schuldschein issuance.
