The first Kempower Mega Satellite Flex in Sweden will be delivered to Dagab’s depot in collaboration with Erinion

The first Swedish delivery of the new Kempower Mega Satellite Flex charging solution will take place at Dagab’s depot in Bålsta in August, with commissioning scheduled for the autumn. Dagab is responsible for the Axfood Group’s supply chain and manages the entire logistics chain from warehousing to transport. The solution is being supplied, commissioned and monitored by Erinion, Kempower’s end-to-end partner for charging infrastructure for heavy-duty fleets and part of the Scania Group.

Dagab currently has nearly 40 electric trucks in operation, 13 of which are based at the logistics centre in Bålsta. To meet the growing charging demand, a Kempower Mega Satellite Flex is now being installed, capable of charging both today’s CCS-equipped trucks and next-generation MCS vehicles from the same charging unit. This provides a flexible and future-proof solution as the vehicle fleet continues to be electrified. The platform builds on Kempower’s distributed charging architecture and is being integrated into Dagab’s existing Kempower charging facility in Bålsta.

“For us, it’s about investing in infrastructure that will stand the test of time. By combining CCS and MCS in the same charging solution, we can ensure high utilisation rates today, whilst also being ready when a larger proportion of the vehicle fleet transitions to the MCS standard and megawatt charging,” says Krister Kjellström, Head of Vehicles at Dagab.

“The transport industry is undergoing a technological shift in which CCS and MCS will coexist for a long time to come. With Kempower Mega Satellite Flex, customers do not have to choose between today’s operations and tomorrow’s needs. They can invest in future-proof infrastructure right now whilst ensuring high utilisation rates and profitability from day one,” says Robert Hägg, Head of Sales Sweden at Kempower.

“Kempower’s Mega Satellite Flex gives us a stable foundation on which to build in Bålsta. Through Erinion Connect, we monitor and optimise charging around the clock, ensuring that the vehicles are ready for every morning shift, whatever the season,” comments Wilhelm Löwenhielm, Chief Business Officer at Erinion.

"The electrification of heavy goods transport requires vehicles and charging infrastructure to be developed in tandem. Combining Erinion’s expertise in charging with Kempower’s charging infrastructure, our electric trucks can charge quickly and seamlessly in line with the needs of Dagab and the grocery retail sector," says Lars Hagman, Key Account Manager at Scania.
