Antti Viljakainen has made a new company report on Raute after Q3.  We reiterate our Add recommendation for Raute and our target price of 17.00 euros. Raute’s Q3 report somewhat alleviated concerns about the future, especially thanks to a good order flow given the circumstances, but we did not make significant forecast changes after the report. In our opinion, Raute’s valuation is inexpensive when viewed across all key valuation metrics, even if earnings are expected to decrease next year. Thus, we see the stock’s expected return, formed by valuation upside and dividend, as higher than the required rate of return. Excerpt from the report: Raute’s balance sheet remains very strong, and as for cash flow, the worst is likely already behind us Raute’s equity ratio was at a solid 65% at the end of Q3 (cf. target over 40%). The net gearing ratio was clearly negative, at -50%, similar to the comparison period. In Q3, Raute’s operating cash flow was a negative EUR 19 million for the nine-month period, as advances significantly decreased due to project progress and weak order flow. However, Q3 was marginally positive in terms of cash flow, which was even better than expected relative to our full-year forecast. In our assessment, the company’s working capital levels normalized during Q3, as working capital turned positive for the first time in a while. However, a clear turn for the better would require the equipment project business to continue picking up during the winter, which would especially bring new advance payments to the balance sheet. Here are Antti’s quick comments on the results.  Raute published its Q3 report this morning. The company exceeded our earnings estimates by a rather clear margin, which was mainly due to the strong profitability achieved in the Wood Processing equipment unit. Orders also clearly exceeded our forecasts, and demand comments had a more positive tone, but the order book, which has been declining for some time, is causing cost-saving pressures for the company next year. Raute naturally reiterated its fresh full-year guidance. On first impression, the overall picture of the report is positive in our opinion, although it is unlikely to give cause for a major forecast overhaul. Antti has had time to write a report after the profit warning.  We reiterate our target price of 17.00 euros and our Add recommendation for Raute, which issued a profit warning yesterday. Raute’s revenue guidance decreased, but this was due to a shift in the timing of project deliveries, and the company also confirmed that its order flow had recovered from the low H1 levels in Q3. We did not make any changes to our forecasts. In our opinion, the stock’s valuation is still quite moderate (2026e: EV/EBIT 6x), even though the order book, which has likely remained significantly low, still raises concerns about tomorrow (i.e., next year). However, in our view, the expected return, consisting of the upside potential from the stock’s low valuation and the dividend, is still higher than the required rate of return.
