New store openings will likely also occur in smaller municipalities not on this list, and furthermore, new store openings have been announced for municipalities that already have a Puuilo, and there will likely be more of these. Looking back at these store lists of mine, I notice—in addition to the “Turku doesn’t need a Puuilo store” comment—that new stores have been established at a rapid pace in municipalities that were previously on the list.

Puuilo to open a store in Karjaa, Raasepori in autumn 2026: PUUILO PLC, PRESS RELEASE, 26 Jan 2026 at 07:30 Puuilo continues its growth and will open a new store in autumn 2026 in Leppi, Karjaa, Raasepori. The approximately 3,000 m² store will be centrally located next to the Karjaa K-rauta and ABC station, at the intersection of two highways. Rusta will also open in the same building. At the time of opening, the store will employ 13–14 people, and recruitment will begin during the summer of 2026.  Currently, the nearest Puuilo store is located in Lohja, but CEO Juha Saarela sees significant potential in Raasepori: “Raasepori is a natural expansion target for us. The area has many homeowners and summer residents, whom Puuilo’s selection serves excellently. Karjaa acts as a regional service hub, and the new store is easily accessible at the intersection of two highways.”

I would be interested to know the counterparty of the trade. Could the seller be “some” SEB? Pure guess. In December, they sold over 975,000 shares and about 55% of the share capital still remained.

Grafton has released its preliminary figures for last year. Grafton has decided to combine IKH’s figures with the Dutch business to better hide the weakness of the Finnish business.
