Peab builds stabling tracks in Gothenburg
Peab has been commissioned to build new stabling tracks in the Pilekrogen area in Mölndal, south of Gothenburg. The customer is the Swedish Transport Administration and the contract is worth SEK 580 million.
The project comprises the construction of stabling tracks for local and regional trains along the West Coast Line. The project includes groundwork, track, electricity, signaling and telecommunications as well as rerouting o cables in the existing railroad facility between Krokslätt and Kållered. The contract also includes extensive ground reinforcement with approximately one million meters of lime cement pillars and the construction of a bridge.

The new stabling area is a key part of the Swedish Transport Administration's efforts to meet the increased need for stabling capacity as more trains operate in the Gothenburg area. When the West Link is put into service traffic flows will change and many of the trains passing through the tunnel will have less access to the current stabling tracks. The new tracks at Pilekrogen will therefore contribute to a more robust railroad facility for both local and regional traffic.
The project is a traditional contract. Construction will start in April 2026 and final inspection is scheduled for September 2028.
The project will be order registered in the first quarter 2026.
