Norse announced its Q3 results today, and I came to refresh old memories from summer 2024. Norse’s business has still not turned profitable, but the rate of loss has clearly decreased from 2024. This year, the aircraft load factor has been over 90% all year, but profits just aren’t materializing:  The owners have stubbornly continued to finance the company, even though accumulated losses already exceed 500 mUSD since the start of operations:  When pondering these figures, it’s worth noting the 268 mUSD write-down from the reduction of share capital, which has covered previous losses.  Even in April back then, one could have easily gotten on board, as the stock went over ten during the summer. Now, however, that rise has largely melted away, and today, with the results, there’s a \~ -12% on the board:  Norse is undergoing a partial transformation, as 5-6 of its fleet are moving/have moved to operate Indigo’s long-haul flights. That is, under normal circumstances, a very low-margin business, but perhaps that way they could push themselves to profitability in 2026? I wouldn’t personally put many euros on this bet, however.

Here again, one saw how a fantastic investment turned into a terrible loss-making machine when one got in far too early. At a price of 2 NOK, a lot of value could have been created with a balance sheet investment. At a price of 10 NOK, one only takes a beating

In October we celebrated an important milestone as we connected the UK to South Africa, operating our first direct nonstop flight between London and Cape Town.  The sold-out inaugural was a testament to the need and demand of great value and comfortable flights on this route, which for far too long has been subjected to  a lack of competition to the detriment of travellers. Norse Atlantic Airways is pleased to announce that it has agreed improved  payment terms with its credit card payment providers resulting in an immediate  cash release.   In a Company announcement dated 2 July 2024 reference was made to near-term  liquidity being negatively impacted by a tail-heavy summer bookings curve while  awaiting credit card receivables being collected and that various working  capital initiatives were ongoing. The new improved credit card terms have been  achieved at no cost and represent the most favourable working capital solution  and resolve the near-term liquidity issue.We continue working to optimise our  liquidity and our general financial position going forward. You were absolutely right about this stock, and indeed, the worst-case scenario has played out. The load factor reached a good level for the summer, but the selling price wasn’t enough for a profitable result, and that strategically important investment/buyout offer, which this investment case largely relied on, fell through at the final stretch. Because of this, financing cannot be obtained from anywhere at a reasonable price, and now they are forced to carry out a share issue on very poor terms.  Terms of the investment were in principle agreed with the potential investor’s management. To Norse’s understanding, the investor’s board made the strategic decision not to enter the long-haul market and consequently did not approve the transaction.  Nothing for it but to raise the white flag and give up on this stock

The milestone is marked by the delivery of the sixth and final Boeing 787-9 aircraft under a long-term ACMI agreement with IndiGo, India's largest and one of the world's fastest-growing airlines. The aircraft was delivered as planned on 29 January and is already in commercial operation.</div>With this delivery, 50% of Norse's modern Boeing 787 fleet is secured on long-term commercial contracts, providing stable, predictable cash flow without exposure to fuel price volatility or short-term demand swings.
