Bergen, Norway, 19 August 2026: Today, Lifecare ASA (LIFE), a clinical stage medical sensor company developing the next generation Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM), publishes its Q2 2026 financial report and operational update.

Highlights:

  • Three current-generation implants reached six months in vivo
  • Independent histology confirmed no adverse or unexpected tissue response after six months
  • Manufacturing transfer to Bergen progressed towards controlled production
  • Regulatory development is focused on preparing a pivotal CE-mark clinical investigation
  • Restructuring reduced the cost base, and the current operating plan provides expected runway through Q2 2027

Three current-generation implants in the ongoing veterinary study have reached six months of implantation under real-world conditions. Independent histological analysis confirmed the clinical observations, with no adverse or unexpected tissue response identified. The accumulated data have also strengthened Lifecare’s understanding of sensor sensitivity, drift, stability and glucose-related signal behaviour.

“Q2 has provided us with stronger long-term evidence and a much broader basis for understanding how the sensing system performs over time. These results are important as we move from technology development towards a regulated product,” says Lifecare CEO Joacim Holter.

At the same time, Lifecare continued the transfer of manufacturing activities to Bergen. Establishing controlled production, including process documentation, incoming material qualification, traceability and associated quality documentation, is an important prerequisite for verification activities and the regulatory submission package.

Following regulatory feedback received earlier this year, Lifecare is focusing development on preparing a robust submission package for a single pivotal CE-mark clinical investigation. Timing will depend on completion of the required manufacturing, verification and documentation activities.

“Our immediate priority is to complete the manufacturing and quality foundation required for pivotal clinical execution. Manufacturing readiness and regulatory readiness are closely connected,” Holter says.

The restructuring implemented during the first half of 2026 has materially reduced Lifecare’s cost base. Operating loss for Q2 2026 was NOK 10.7 million, compared with NOK 22.2 million in Q2 2025, while cash and cash equivalents amounted to NOK 36.8 million at quarter end. The current operating plan provides expected financial runway into Q2 2027.

Results presentation
CEO Joacim Holter and CFO Petter Nielsen will present the Q2 results live at Vestland på Børs, Scandic Flesland Airport Hotel, Bergen today at 08:45 CEST.
