Embracer Group is a global group with operations in PC/console and mobile games, as well as other related media. I’m waiting for my bank to get the acquisition price for Coffee Stain sorted out, then I’ll post whatever lottery numbers they came up with.  A small update on the last year where Embracer is Embracer. And New Year’s greetings if anyone still owns this   Embracer’s YTD looks grim if you only look at this image. (Yahoo) But for Embracer + Asmodee + Coffee Stain, the YTD is actually +4.9%. This depends on having participated in this year’s spin-off saga. Enterprise value, which likely tells many about the risk profile, also changed significantly. Embracer released one high-profile and profitable game. They put Easybrain up for sale, thanks to which the debt load vanished; Asmodee is still digesting its own debt for a while, but progress has been made there too. The change in enterprise value (Embracer + Asmodee + Coffee Stain) was 55.37 BSEK (end of 2024) and 44.22 BSEK (end of this year). So, the enterprise value “collapsed” by 11 BSEK. To some extent, Embracer’s AAA products have taken hits and seen delays (where’s Metro, when’s Marvel), and cancellations in collaborative projects (Perfect Dark, LOTR online). Additionally, no share issues, no forced sales. Above all, a year of change in the risk profile. This list comes from the Swedish Placera forum, user Lucifer:   Studios and similar that disappeared in 2025 Embracer’s management said they weren’t done after the restructuring program, and they weren’t. Many of the things they have done have been too small to issue a press release, so I collected everything that disappeared in 2025. I’m surprised CS got numbers this high and seems to be defending the 20 SEK line (insiders have been buying too). The game lineup should then start at the beginning of the year, led by Reanimal in February.  Gothic Remake Warhammer Dawn of War 4 Fatekeeper Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, for which I expect strong sales.  Year 2025 in short  Risk profile improved, share price curve worsened.

When you received Coffee Stain Group B shares through Embracer, what will be their acquisition price?

And the biggest buzz around those Tomb Raiders has been generated by the remake of the first part with the UE5 engine. Out next year, perhaps in the H2 half. If I’ve understood correctly, from the start Embracer would get some revenue shared with Amazon, but of course a larger slice goes to Amazon until the Recoups are achieved. [ https://flyingwildhog.com ] would probably be roughly slightly smaller than Remedy, and they also have some of their own games, of which Shadow Warrior is a more well-known series. Just a wild guess, that the Polish studio is making the Tomb Raider remake with similar sums as Remedy is working on the Control sequel for 50-70m€. [ https://cyberpost.co/what-is-the-average-budget-for-aaa-games/ ] The price tag for Catalyst is then the bigger question mark, but since Amazon is sharing the costs and the entire Crystal Dynamics with its staff seems to be responsible for making this new Tomb Raider. Additionally, there’s a rumor that this game would be an open-world adventure, with most of the employees in the US, so there’s a lot of investment here. 100-150m$ is a wild guess, but I’d lean towards the latter figure; the previous main series Tomb Raider was released in 2018. These estimates are then without the marketing costs; of course, the upcoming TV series will handle some of it, and it’s a really good move to bring two games out simultaneously, which also helps a bit. The final price tag cannot be said yet, but Lara Croft’s return has not been approached with small sums, considering Amazon’s TV series as well. Finally, to quote Akee: “a good game is still needed” and in this case, two. Regarding visibility, some X-rumor claimed that various videos had been watched as many as 10 million times already after the Game Awards, but then Catalyst needs to sell at least 5-7m copies. The remake could even sell as much as Remedy needs to sell Control to break even, and then just more similar early Tomb Raiders in a row.

It’s fun to read the Remedy thread, where the TGA announcement sparks lively discussion, but Embracer’s “mega-IP” Tomb Raider announcements didn’t generate much reaction. And this isn’t limited to the Inderes forum – the attention Lara Croft’s adventures receive is indeed less than, say, Control. So, if the schedules hold, Amazon Game Studios will release a remake of the first Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, as early as 2026, while 2027 will see Tomb Raider: Catalyst, featuring entirely new plot twists and tombs. It would be interesting to know the budgets for these games and Embracer’s royalty share. Perhaps some advance has been paid for the use of the IP, and development is carried out by Embracer’s Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, so development fees will at least flow in. Perhaps Embracer’s ultimate goal is to sell the IP to Amazon at a good price. But even though these announcements have been somewhat overshadowed by others, Tomb Raider’s recognizability extends to the less gaming-savvy population, so the sheer volume of online discussions is not a sufficient metric to assess how the game will succeed compared to, say, Control Resonant or Divinity. Does anyone know where to see or what the tax “cost basis” of the Coffee Stain spinoff is? Many trading platforms probably can’t calculate profits/losses correctly for a stock that has entered the portfolio due to such a spin-off until one manually enters a price for them.

Embracer today without Coffee Stain for sale at the same valuation levels as in the early days after THQ’s bankruptcy. The company has evolved since those days.  Lower risk profile Stronger balance sheet IP reserve multiplied Cash flow sources Broader Aaa/aa development pipeline Management team has bought a significant amount of its shares.  But we don’t yet know the exact final form of the Fellowship, or upcoming AAA games. One can only throw out some guesses (Dead Island 3, Remnant, Warhorse’s new IP, some Lotr project). But Embracer/Fellowship still has to prove to the market that it is a competitive company offering an interesting selection. So there are also red flags…  Many games have been postponed this year, which makes achieving the 3.1 ROI targets difficult We still don’t know the final form of the Fellowship The AA segment has been weak. KCD2 (Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2) gets a lot of attention and nominations this year, but the weak sales of AA games eat up a lot. Many ambiguities regarding the activities of different studios.
