Finnair Traffic Performance in February 2026
Finnair Plc Investor News 5 March 2026 at 9:00 a.m. EET
Capacity, passenger load factor and unit revenue increased
In February, Finnair carried 904,400 passengers, which was 6.9% more than in February 2025, when the number of passengers was limited by capacity reductions following industrial action. Passenger numbers grew significantly in Asian traffic, clearly in Domestic and European traffic and slightly also in Middle Eastern traffic. In North Atlantic traffic, the number of passengers remained stable.
Overall capacity, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), increased by 4.8%. In the comparison period, capacity was limited by industrial action. In February 2026, capacity grew clearly in Asian, North Atlantic and Domestic traffic and slightly also in Middle Eastern traffic. In European traffic, capacity remained stable. In addition to the end of the industrial action that burdened the comparison period, the capacity increase was primarily driven by added frequencies to Osaka and Tokyo, Dallas, as well as Lapland. Including wet lease outs, overall capacity increased by 4.4%.
Finnair's traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), increased by 8.5%. RPKs saw growth across traffic areas.
Passenger load factor (PLF) improved by 2.6% points to 77.7%. PLF improved in European, Asian and Domestic traffic but declined in North Atlantic and Middle Eastern traffic.
Revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) increased by 2.3%, supported by an improved passenger load factor.
Total cargo tonnes increased by 9.3%. North Atlantic and Asian cargo traffic saw significant growth. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres increased by 11.5%.
In February, 68.4% of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule compared to 81.2% in the comparison period. On-time performance was negatively affected by exceptionally difficult weather conditions.
Traffic statistics for March 2026 will be published on Thursday 9 April 2026.
