Tokmanni Group is a variety discount retailer in the Nordics. The group has stores in Finland, Sweden and Denmark under the brand names Tokmanni, Dollarstore, Big Dollar, Click Shoes and Miny. In addition, Tokmanni has online stores. Tokmanni's headquarter and logistics centres are located in Mäntsälä, Finland. Dollarstore is headquartered in Kista, Stockholm with a central warehouse in Örebro. The group own a procurement company located in Shanghai together with a Norwegian discount store chain Europris.

All it takes is for someone (else) to click “share your contacts” on social media, where users are constantly prompted for contact information to grow their network, and your phone number is out there. So, are you sure that no one who has your contact details has accidentally shared your number? Or do you use WhatsApp? Numbers have leaked from there as well.

Well, I’ve had the same unlisted phone number for over 20 years, and I haven’t given or shared it anywhere; I don’t even enter raffles. Now, in the last three weeks, I’ve had three nuisance calls from abroad—I didn’t answer: 2 from Spanish numbers and 1 from Sweden. My uncle’s wife also got a nuisance call from Sweden (she didn’t answer) from the same number an hour earlier, and we have no other common factor except that we are both Tokmanni loyalty members…

You could also add what the news actually is to these clickbait headlines. “According to a tip received by Iltalehti, information has reportedly been circulating on the messaging service Telegram. Based on the news, it sounded like a problem on the customer’s end. Perhaps the passwords of several family members were stored on the computer.

Bad news for both the company and its customers Tokmanni customers may have reason to be concerned

The local Tokmanni is supposed to be bursting with goods. A discount retailer’s aggressive clearance sales of general merchandise are also part of the strategy. Tokmanni was already in good form in Q3. Dollarstore wasn’t, and the problems boil down to that, not the Tokmanni stores. It is the end of February. I’m sure Tokmanni has already finished tallying up last year’s figures.

Personally, I still believe a profit warning is coming. Sales surely haven’t been moving at that pace as consumers are cautious and have the most money in their accounts in a long time. Consumption hasn’t grown, and the charts don’t indicate that it will. The local Tokmanni is overflowing with goods. Last summer’s hats are being sold for just a euro to get rid of them, as the new season is already just around the corner.

We see a slight reduction in the company's risk level due to a faster-than-expected decrease in the debt position and positive integration news.
