Tokmanni Group is a variety discount retailer in the Nordics. The group has stores in Finland, Sweden and Denmark under the brand names Tokmanni, Dollarstore, Big Dollar, Click Shoes and Miny. In addition, Tokmanni has online stores. Tokmanni's headquarter and logistics centres are located in Mäntsälä, Finland. Dollarstore is headquartered in Kista, Stockholm with a central warehouse in Örebro. The group own a procurement company located in Shanghai together with a Norwegian discount store chain Europris.

You could also add what the news actually is to these clickbait headlines. “According to a tip received by Iltalehti, information has reportedly been circulating on the messaging service Telegram. Mikkonen is unable to confirm this information. According to Mikkonen, the information was most likely accessed from a customer’s personal, infected computer. – It is not a data breach targeting Tokmanni, Mikkonen says. “

Based on the news, it sounded like a problem on the customer’s end. Perhaps the passwords of several family members were stored on the computer.

Bad news for both the company and its customers Tokmanni customers may have reason to be concerned

The local Tokmanni is supposed to be bursting with goods. A discount retailer’s aggressive clearance sales of general merchandise are also part of the strategy. Tokmanni was already in good form in Q3. Dollarstore wasn’t, and the problems boil down to that, not the Tokmanni stores. It is the end of February. I’m sure Tokmanni has already finished tallying up last year’s figures.

Personally, I still believe a profit warning is coming. Sales surely haven’t been moving at that pace as consumers are cautious and have the most money in their accounts in a long time. Consumption hasn’t grown, and the charts don’t indicate that it will. The local Tokmanni is overflowing with goods. Last summer’s hats are being sold for just a euro to get rid of them, as the new season is already just around the corner.

The profit warning predicted by OP (as well) did not materialize, so now OP is forecasting a narrow beat of the lower end of the guidance and updating the target price:  Waiting for Inderes’ earnings preview….

How likely do you think it is at this stage that Tokmanni will issue a negative profit warning? Short sellers still have some conviction that the guidance won’t be met.

Inflation continues to a burden on the company, especially in own costs, but we expect the sales margin to continue to recover, supporting the earnings growth outlook.
