Studsvik has today entered into an agreement to acquire all the shares in the company Extrem Borr och Sågteknik AB, specialists in various types of segmentation primarily within the nuclear power industry. Under the agreement the acquisition is set to take place on 1 July 2024.

Extrem Borr och Sågteknik AB (EBS) specialises in various types of segmentation mainly within the nuclear power industry (cutting, sawing, drilling etc). The company is based in Ängelholm, has eight employees and acts as a project manager and problem solver in various types of dismantling projects, chiefly involving nuclear facilities. Performing these projects often involves developing and/or adapting equipment to meet customer needs. EBS has annual turnover of more than SEK 30 million, with an operating margin in the order of 30 percent.

The company makes an excellent addition to Studsvik, especially since the expertise and machinery that EBS provides complement the Group's operations in its Decommissioning and Radiation Protection Services (DRPS) business area. The addition of EBS means Studsvik can offer customers a more complete service, with EBS helping to broaden the Group's expertise, thereby facilitating expansion in the Swedish market.

Under the agreement Studsvik will pay an initial purchase consideration of SEK 35 million and an annual additional purchase consideration of up to 7 percent of the initial amount for three years, based on EBS achieving set financial goals.

"EBS complements Studsvik very well, and we see many synergy benefits from this acquisition - in both the short and the long term," says Camilla Hoflund, President and CEO of Studsvik.

Jan and Dorthe Sjöholm, owners of EBS, add: "We are very pleased to have found a long-term owner for our life's work, and are confident that EBS will develop and grow within Studsvik."

The acquisition is expected to have a positive impact on the company's results in 2024.
