Due to high inflation and activity in the Norwegian economy, Norges Bank raised
the policy rate to 3.75 percent on Thursday 22 June.
Today SpareBank 1 SR-Bank is adjusting the interest rates on mortgages and
deposits by up to 0.50 percentage points, corresponding to the change made by
Norges Bank.
"The central bank's task is to ensure low and stable inflation, which is an
important assumption for economic planning for individuals and businesses. The
sustained pressure in the Norwegian economy results in increased costs and
interest expenses. We understand that this can be challenging, and therefore
encourage customers seeking advice to contact us," says Roger Lund Antonesen,
Executive Vice President, Retail Market.
The new terms will take effect from 27 June for new loans, and from 8 August for
existing loans. All mortgage customers will receive information through online
banking or by mail regarding how the interest rate change will affect them.
