Smoltek Nanotech Holding AB: Smoltek has signed an agreement with ITRI for small-scale production of CNF-MIM capacitors

Smoltek Nanotech Holding

Smoltek Nanotech Holding AB (publ) ("Smoltek" or "the Company") announces that its subsidiary Smoltek Semi has signed a technical service agreement with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). The agreement enables low-volume production of the company's CNF-MIM capacitors, both industrially manufactured prototypes for customer testing and industrialized capacitors in smaller volumes for specialized customer projects.

Smoltek and ITRI have developed key components for Smoltek's CNF-MIM capacitors during a year of collaboration, laying the foundation for industrial scale-up of Smoltek's capacitor technology. The parties have now signed a technical services agreement that gives Smoltek access to ITRI's expertise and resources, enabling process refinement under industrial conditions prior to commercial deployment, enabling the manufacturing of Smoltek's capacitors in smaller volumes.

"Through the technical service agreement, we can accelerate our development plan and get closer to potential customers who are requesting early prototypes of our high-performance, ultra-thin capacitors," says Farzan Ghavanini, CTO at Smoltek.

Smoltek's proprietary CNF-MIM™ technology enables the fabrication of ultra-thin capacitors with high capacitance density, particularly suited for placement in the limited space beneath advanced processor circuits, where both performance and form factor are critical. This gives Smoltek a clear competitive advantage in next-generation mobile devices, AI and high-performance data centers (HPC).

"We already have customers waiting for industrial prototypes and we are also in dialogue with potential customers who are prepared to pay a premium for CNF-MIM capacitors with specific characteristics. The ITRI agreement and the installation of our carbon growth machine in their production environment provide opportunities to scale up and grow carbon nanofibers for the manufacture of millions of capacitors per year. Together with other process steps at ITRI, this enables us to begin deliveries to customers", says Magnus Andersson, CEO of Smoltek.
