Hello to the thread. I myself have also been a Remedy bear for a long time, but I took a big position on this past Friday for under 16e. No investment recommendations, but in my opinion, it now seems unlikely to lose money at that price within a year. The catalysts are the upcoming Control release and Max Payne Remake, which has been in development for a long time. It’s easy to assume it will be released by 2027 at the latest. This means two major game releases for the next two years, which could be Remedy’s best years. Alan Wake 3 possibly in 2029, which is still a long way off. Looks good. However, it wasn’t just the changed development pace that caused the buying effect in me, but it certainly supported the decision to buy this. The biggest reason was, of course, the trailer for Control Resonant, which was AMAZING! Remedy hasn’t particularly shined with their trailers before, but now it looked like something had been learned or skilled people had been hired. The trailer doesn’t tell anything about the game’s success yet, but as a player myself, it piqued my interest.  We’ve moved away from the ‘boring’ office environment. New playable character (male) New gameplay mechanics (melee) New enemies (hopefully there are more and plenty) The trailer and music strongly reminded me of Souls and Witcher games  If there’s one thing to nitpick, the smoke effect on enemies bothers me  When we start to grasp the game’s sales, I see more opportunities than threats in Resonant. Control fans will likely buy this anyway, and if marketing succeeds this time, meaning if they manage to continue creating trailers like this and showing interesting gameplay before release, then there’s potential for a big success here. Everything can still go wrong if this is released at the same time as GTA, but I think the people at Remedy’s office are aware of the situation. (hope so)

Great trailer and the hype started nicely. Hopefully, the Remedyverse is hammered with a customizable sledgehammer into the black hole at the beginning of the trailer, and after Max Payne, we get something other than smoke orcs in dim lighting. Hopefully, the gameplay is polished to perfection here, and the story is left in the background. Remedy knows how to develop a great world, but for my taste, it gets so out of hand that at some point, I lose interest. Especially in Control. The AW2 story kept my interest, but the scariest part was the clunky gameplay in action sequences. Resonant was a positive surprise, but I wasn’t fully enthusiastic because it’s set in the Remedyverse’s Control world and isn’t its own separate story.

I will probably play this. Like most Remedy games. But compared to my expectations, the predominant feeling was disappointment. Perhaps most visually, which is on the same level as AW2. Whereas Control → AW Remastered → AW2 was a clear and big change, it doesn’t seem to be that way from AW2 → Control Resonant. The gameplay also makes me wonder; I’m more of a fan of shooting than melee attacks. From its trailer, it’s weaker for me than AW2. It’s hard to believe the story will be better than AW2. Somehow it still feels like a heavy thought to jump into the same Remedy-verse again, but that’s just a personal opinion. The same shadow smoke creatures are encountered from one release to another. Remedy would need the ability to create something new, but it’s difficult for a small game studio to succeed at that, as we’ve already seen. Additionally, AW2 gave me some gray hairs in the form of DLC, similar to Control. For example, I couldn’t bring myself to finish them in Control or AW2. I don’t see much added value for the player in them; they become available too late. The story has already ended; I don’t want to reopen it with any side plot half a year later, with gameplay mechanics I’ve already forgotten. I won’t be buying it anymore. I’ve been waiting for Max Payne for a long time, having played them through when I was young, but now I’m starting to fear that Remedy won’t be able to take the game to a new level, as seems to be happening with Resonant. Mainly, I’m afraid that Remedy’s game engine will ruin what Max Payne once was. Ultimately, I believe this will remain primarily a fan product; it’s hard to believe it will achieve anything close to AW2’s sales level. But an investor can certainly make money with this once the anticipation game begins.

In my opinion, this doesn’t really matter to an investor whether the game is ultimately good or not. The hype train has now started big time and the game will be released in a year, so this looks like a pretty good buy the rumors sell the news-style momentum investment. So the playbook is to go boldly back to buying by Monday at the latest, and then in late 2026, one can reconsider whether to exit the investment and whether the game looks like it’s going to be anything when more gameplay footage is seen, or if one dares to own the stock even after the release of Control 2. Of course, it would have been smarter to anticipate the Game Awards by taking a speculative ownership in Remedy, but there’s still time to get in. The share price, by all accounts, will be significantly higher than it is now closer to the release, as Max Payne is also just around the corner. My longer-term view on Remedy is still bearish, but it does seem like an opportunity is opening up to take easy profits. My own thoughts, not an investment recommendation, make your own investment decisions carefully, etc.

Yes, the hype from Asmongold (4+ million followers) and other big YouTubers/social media influencers really does have an effect on generating interest in the game. And the trailer certainly looked great visually.

Even Asmongold praised the trailer, so it can only be top-notch  But seriously, it certainly looks good, and gameplay will surely determine its success - the framework is in order. A bold move to revamp the concept, but it can also bring in new fans if it succeeds.
