Kempower operates in the industrial sector. The company is a developer of charging solutions and services aimed at the automotive sector. The range mainly includes charging posts, stations, sockets, and associated electronic equipment. In addition to the main business, various after-sales services and technical support are offered. The largest operations are found in the Nordic region and parts of Europe.

There were a couple of interesting nuggets in episode 44 of The Charge Point Podcast. Usually, these kinds of podcasts are mostly advertisements where the guest and host compete to praise each other.  This time, when Electra’s Head of Business for Germany was asked about the current OEM, he first praised Alpitronic’s reliability and market leadership, but immediately followed up by saying that a dynamic system is available from another country that is also on the radar.    At the end, when asked where we will be in 2-3 years, he mentioned again that there are technologies on the market that help them get the same power from a smaller grid connection through efficient power sharing.  Kempower has certainly been noticed elsewhere besides at Allego’s table. Now we are just waiting for the official news.

It will be interesting to see how the prolonged war in Iran and the resulting rise in fuel prices will affect the demand for electric vehicles. Many who have been considering purchasing an electric vehicle may have postponed their final purchase decision due to the drop in fuel prices. After all, last year was the cheapest in several years, so many likely thought that it wasn’t yet time to trade in their car. If prices were to rise to 2 euros and beyond, it could provide an additional boost for switching vehicles, which would also be a favorable development for Kempower in the long run.

Almost unnoticed, the share of new electric trucks is already over 16% in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, among others, while Finland has only just crossed the 3% milestone.    The report also contains all sorts of interesting information about subsidies in different countries, market shares of truck brands, etc.
