Peab renovates and expands office building in Karlstad
Peab has been commissioned to develop an office building in central Karlstad by building two new floors and completely refurbishing three existing floors. The customer is Erna Fastigheter and the contract is worth SEK 150 million.
The project comprises both renovation and new construction, where three existing floors will be completely refurbished and two new floors will be built. A total of five floors will be created with flexible and attractive offices that can function as workplaces for the future.
The building is being developed with a clear focus on sustainability and will be environmentally certified according to LEED. The building will have a green facade, modern technical installations to ensure energy efficiency and a pleasant indoor climate as well as added value for tenants that includes a shared green roof terrace with two conference rooms, a bicycle room and changing rooms.
"We're pleased to be involved in developing the building and thereby contributing to the heart of Karlstad with a new, modern and sustainable feature. It also feels really good to be working with Peab as the contractor of the project," says Peter Lundgren, CEO of Erna Fastigheter.
"We at Peab look forward to contributing with our experience in developing a sustainable, modern and flexible office building in the city's best location," says Nils Staffansson, Region Manager Peab.
The project is a turnkey contract in partnering. Construction will start in January 2026 and the project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter 2027.
The project will be order registered in the fourth quarter 2025.
