In recent weeks, a large seller seems to have been active in Digia, and apparently, the shares in nominee registers have fallen from 790,325 to 653,743, meaning the sales largely seem to have come from there. Probably a big reason why the share price has fallen so much. Digia seems very cheaply priced, even though a technical profit warning is quite likely. The company has indeed long felt like the best-performing Finnish IT service company. If only the sector’s cycle would recover

Great example from our Swedish colleagues. | Timo Levoranta On the other hand, the reference was probably to Climber’s Dutch subsidiary, if we’re being precise. A rather small shop, but I have heard of this Asics myself sometimes. In fact, I might even have a couple of pairs in my closet. On the other hand, some like Feon, Tana, or Telinekataja are a bit stranger – good companies and references for sure, though. The point is only that now that the company is starting a new strategy period and its international exchange approximately doubled in a year, as a tiny small investor, one could hope that these digital natives who wear out chairs even further away would be actively involved in the work with opportunities to influence. So that the participation requirements would not be over 50 years of age and a completed national defense course  Well, the purpose of this little bit of nastiness was mostly to be bad humor, but from the outside, one could at least assume that emphasizing this international growth and expertise (i.e., utilizing it in every way) could also get the stock moving. Which has been longed for a few years now. And who knows, maybe in the future, the references could include Nike or Adidas as well.

I’ve been trying to gradually familiarize myself with Digia. The valuation and outperforming the market are appealing. However, many things concern me when investing in the IT services sector. In Verneri’s Grill, Levoranta said that permanent competitive advantages cannot be achieved in the sector and companies must be constantly adaptable (or something to that effect). Will the current winner still be better than others in the coming years? There are many good participants in competitive bidding. How permanent are customer relationships, or do clients commission new projects from whoever offers sufficient quality at the lowest price? The overcapacity in the sector can be temporary or more permanent. Is there a risk that a previously fast-growing sector will normalize into “red oceans” like other competitive sectors? I haven’t really had time to read the thread yet, nor all the analyses. Apologies if there’s repetition, but I’m genuinely asking for others’ views

Levonranta said in an interview with Inderes that “the majority of Q3’s result was made in September,” meaning that if we can assume the last three months will be more like September than July/August, then there are indeed the ingredients for a really strong quarter. What is the majority? At least over half of that €5.6 million? €3-4 million? If you multiply that by three and subtract the long Christmas holidays, then there are good prospects for that guidance. And that result included one-off items that were not adjusted.

I haven’t looked at Joni’s figures more closely yet, but this “forecasts slightly downwards” grated a bit. Certainly quite justified, but on the other hand, if the company even gets close to this 8.5M EBITA in Q4, then there’s a significant level increase as a basis for the coming years. So I would see achieving targets accelerating towards the end of the year as a much better situation than, for example, the opposite, when looking at future years. It will also be very interesting to follow how ambitious targets the company sets for the next three-year period now that the gates to Europe have been properly opened.
