<div class="abstract"><p>After 12 months of joint development, SolarSpring GmbH, the subsidiary of Clean Industry Solutions Holding Europe AB and a pioneer in the field of membrane distillation, is officially announcing a cooperation with the company DEUKUM GmbH for the purpose of a specialized upscaled component production. The cooperation will lead to a significant reduction in production costs and the new production facility will have an initial capacity of 10,000 m² of module surface per year with further expansion potential.</p></div><p>The cooperation agreement between DEUKUM GmbH and SolarSpring GmbH is the results of a one-year period of intense research and development on the optimization of flat plate membrane distillation module production methods and materials research. The outcome is a highly specialized and cost-reduced production technique that is expected to fulfill the cost reduction target of 80% compared to the previous method and thus provide a highly competitive cost per unit. SolarSpring can hereby draw upon DEUKUM's multi-decade experience as a specialist in manufacturing flat sheet components, leading to the success of the joint development. From October 2022 onwards, SolarSpring will be setting up its new production line at a 500 m² facility in the close vicinity of the headquarters in Freiburg. Uptake of serial manufacturing is expected as of November 2022 enabling a series zero to be produced before the end of 2022. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br>This cooperation and the resulting price reduction of the membrane distillation modules will have a positive impact on SolarSpring's discussions and negotiations with current and potential customers. At the same time, delivery times will be significantly shortened through in-house production.</p>
