Attendo leaves the freedom of choice contract for home care in Västerås

Attendo

Attendo has today decided to terminate the freedom of choice contract (LOV) for home care and home nursing with the City of Västerås. The decision is a result of a long period of careful consideration of the conditions for running long-term sustainable home care operations in the city.

In recent years, the conditions for conducting operations in the City of Västerås has worsened, while the climate for co-operation has deteriorated. Together, these factors make it increasingly difficult to maintain the quality Attendo want to offer customers.

- This has been a difficult decision to make and is something we have not taken lightly. We have been providing home care services in Västerås for 25 years, and our employees have delivered high quality care over these years. The National Board of Health and Welfare's surveys also show that our customers are more satisfied than those who have Västerås' own home care. We are proud of the work we have done, but we see no other way forward, says Stina Holmlund Kelly, segment manager of Attendo Scandinavia home care.

Attendo's main priority now is to ensure a safe transition for customers to new providers and to give affected employees the support they need as a result of this change.

The terminated agreement has no material impact on Attendo's results.
