Summa Defence is a Finnish defence and security technology group. I wonder when people will start demanding this imaginary company be delisted from the stock exchange? It’s been serving up some pretty wild stuff lately.

Perhaps Summa operates at a clock speed we don’t yet know and cannot understand? Time is a crucial resource in growth companies and should not be wasted, says Mårten Mickos in his new book The Growth Formula. Perhaps in Summa, a company operating at hyper-speed, one week means one year, and that’s why it feels to all of us that people change frequently in the management team, even though in reality they have all made a significant career at Summa.

Additionally, the company announced that Rear Admiral (ret.) Juha Vauhkonen returns to Summa Defence as Strategy Director. Leo Vanhatalo has been appointed as the company’s Sales and Marketing Director.  Now I must say… that I am completely speechless.

The current chairman of the board, Jussi M&#xe4;lki&#xe4;, has in turn been appointed as the new CEO as of October 1, 2024. In our view, the possibility of major discontinuities arising in connection with the transition is limited by the fact that the new CEO will be the founder and chairman of the Meriaura board, who thus also has extensive experience in the company and in the marine logistics sector in general.
At the same time, Antti Vehvil&#xe4;inen, current member and vice-chairman of the board, will take over as chairman of the board at the beginning of October.
